Young Leaders’ Consortium or YLC as the name suggests is a gathering of young student leaders from diverse educational fields who can share their skills, experience, knowledge among themselves and spread it to various student communities in India, as thus provide exposure of leadership to all parts of the country.
YLC aims to offer a lively and memorable learning opportunity for students seeking a supplement to their education and develop the leadership skills within them by nurturing the traits required for attaining excellence through a wide variety of well planned activities in a challenging environment and by giving them exposure of various leadership programs.
In a country like India, talent is plenty but opportunities are very less and YLC wants to provide this opportunity to the students in India. The goal of YLC is to work extensively towards the aspiration of modern youth, especially through the continued expansion and enhancement of the organization through national and international collaborations.
YLC focuses for the promotion of student interest in international relations and related subjects, the increase in capacity for students to engage in problem solving, the teaching of various conflict resolution methods, research skills, and communication skills, and the creation of opportunities to meet and interact with people from diverse fields and build long lasting relationships among the youth community.
In this global world where distance between people has been reduced to the click of a button, it is necessary the fruits of one’s work find their way to everyone. Young Leaders’ Consortium was established with the aim of imparting positive change to the lives of youngsters, irrespective of where they are. Only if we are able to provide the necessary exposure to our peers from all over the country and bring them together to a single platform to share their ideas and experienc es, can we truly say that our efforts have been worthwhile.
With the above vision in mind, Young Leaders’ Consortium began its operations in its first chapter Odisha couple of months after the inception of Young Leaders' Consortium India to provide access to our programmes to student communities across Odisha. Along with that, we have engaged in collaborations in several other cities, where we would be expanding soon. In Odisha, we developed a team of exuberant and dedicated people. Their tremendous efforts in consolidating several student communities in order to provide exposure to leadership led to the establishment of YLC Odisha. The team has been working together with several institutions and organizations operating in Odisha and the rest of eastern India, expanding Young Leaders’ Consortium’s operational base, allowing youngsters from a variety of backgrounds to identify their leadership potential.
Chennai, which earlier was core base for the Young Leaders’ Consortium has now been converted into a core chapter, with a team already put in place. Chennai core chapter has already conducted MUN workshops and Leaderships workshops in SRM University and SSN College of Engineering, NIT Trichy etc. The Chennai core chapter also extends to projects in nearby places of Vellore, Trichy and Coimbatore. The Chennai chapter of YLC aims to spread the idea of leadership among schools of Chennai to that the students have a solid base for becoming leaders of tomorrow.
The Mumbai core chapter of Young Leaders’ Consortium has been formed seeing the tremendous potential that is present in this part of the country. The Mumbai chapter shall act as the base for all projects in Nagpur, Pune and Ahmedabad as well. Several workshops and MUN associations are already lined up under the Mumbai chapter, and many more in pipelines. The enthusiasm with which the team of Mumbai chapter has started their work has been commendable and promises to bring out the best leaders from the region.
The Bangalore chapter of Young Leaders’ Consortium is one among the three new chapters that have been set up under Young Leaders’ Consortium India, and aims to tap the potential of the brightest minds and the ever expressive youth of the city of Bangalore. The team for the Bangalore chapter is in a developing stage, however at this initial stage they have shown a lot of promise and spreading the message of Leadership loud and clear in the area of work.
The Hyderabad chapter is the newest chapter under Young Leaders’ Consortium India. Hyderabad has shown lot of scope for nurturing and growth of leaders and thus we have entered with YLC into Hyderabad. The Hyderabad core chapter will work as base for other areas as well, which include Warangal, Vijaywada. MUN workshop and MUN association projects are already in place and with many other projects to come, YLC aims to nurture the best of leaders from Hyderabad.
The art of leadership is saying no, not saying yes. It is very easy to say yes.
Young Leaders’ Consortium has been actively promoting social activities and the team at YLC is of the belief is that a true leader must lead an all round change i.e. a change in all spheres of life and changing our society for the better is one such very important area. Thus Young Leaders’ Consortium aims to provide opportunity to people associated with us to help participate in social development.
Young Leaders Consortium has associated with many Non Government Organizations which work with the sole aim of social development and welfare, be it in the field of education, environment or uplifting the marginalized section.
Some of these organizations are The Green Nest, IPSA, Blooming Beacon.
In keeping up with our aim we have also associated with, Earth Guardians, a US based NGO for their campaign “Protect Our Waters” for which Young Leaders’ Consortium is going to lead the campaign in India. The prime focus of this campaign is to help spread the knowledge among people, specially the marginalized section about the ways to protect our waters and importance of conservation of water in today’s time.

Model UN conferences develop not only the knowledge of participants on world issues but also help in their overall development as a leader and keeping this in mind we associate with Model UN Conferences happening throughout the country and provide assistance in better organizing, ensuring brilliant, which brings forward, best of the leaders.
We provide full assistance to the organizers of the MUN in substantive matters, organizational matters, debate, and event management for the Model UN conference.
Model UN conferences have their sophisticated rules of procedure which become very difficult for first timers to understand and comprehend. YLC provides beginner and intermediate level of training for rules of procedures of MUN, ways to research , an Introduction to policy making and geopolitical scenarios etc. The Workshops are generally a two day event, wherein the first is about explanation of the rules of procedure and other aspects of Model UN and the second day has a mock session for better understanding of rules of procedure by the participants of the workshop.
Leadership is a key feature for successful people all around the world, and every one desires to be a leader but no one really knows how to take the first few primary steps to start moving in that direction. The Leadership Workshop by YLC is specially customized for the students and youth who have very basic or minimal experience in the domain of leadership. We aim to spread the traits of leadership among the recipients of the workshop.The key feature of the Leadership Workshop is the activities and exercises conducted to make the recipients of the workshop understand the traits of leadership better and in an effective manner.
I went to IGNITE workshop by YLC on "How to Become a leader" in SSN yesterday. It was totally awesome and i really enjoyed it, made friends with the organization and seniors. After listening to 16 years of speeches by grandpas and grandmas this is really a boon. A nice day on the campus. Thank you YLC Organizers.

The concept of Indian League of Model UN. We bring to you a competitive platform where Every Model UN Delegate, new or old, experienced or inexperienced can compete to be the best among the best. We are taking winning and competition to the next level, where delegates will be awarded points upon winning, and these points will lead to a national leader board of the best Model UN Participants across the nation, updated every fortnight.
We bring to you the Indian Model UN League Season 1 from September 11th 2014- September 10th 2015. We believe this will put in required transparency measures, in the circuit and raise the bar for debate, thereby enhancing the quality of excellence in MUN simulations across the nation. We look forward to your earnest participation. Registrations opening at 0000 hours 11th September 2014.
For the ease of understanding the rules will refer to the Indian League of Model UN as “the league” and Model UN Conferences will be referred to as MUNs.
1. The rankings for the University Level Participants and the School Level Participants will be published on two different lists.
2. All participants will have a score of 0 points at the beginning of each season of the league.
3. This MUN season will be from 12th September 2014-11th September 2015.
4. Only points earned in MUNs registered with the league, will be considered for the league.
5. Winners from all committees in a MUN will be awarded equal points as per the point structure below:
a. Best Delegate(or equivalent award)- 10 points
b. High Comendation(or equivalent award)- 6 points
c. Special Mention(or equivalent award)- 3 points
Please note that verbal mentions and/or any other awards will not be considered eligible for points.
6. In case of a tie, then delegate with a greater of number of Best Delegate awards will be considered.
7. Executive Board members will not be ranked, however on a fortnightly basis the top 3 top trending EB members will be published.
8. The final decision on all conflicts lies with Young Leaders Consortium (YLC) and will be binding on participants of this league.
